My name is Olguine (O-GINe) Brutus and I’m a self taught knitter and crocheter. I grew up in the church but It was only in recent years that I began to learn what a relationship with God really looks like. I’m always learning more about the Creative Creator who created me to be creative.
I first taught myself to knit in 2012. Shortly after I started going through depression, you know, feeling like a failure. I was constantly afraid of trying new things because, “What if this is another thing I fail at?”
Because of that I was always seeking purpose. Which surprisingly (or unsurprisingly) led me to seeking the Lord. I remembered reading a verse one day that changed my life. It was on a bible cover that my Sunday school teacher had.
It said,
‘For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord , thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.’
The Lord has shown me more than enough times that He keeps His promises. So I prayed for this word, this promise to unfold for me now when I needed it the most. And I was led back to knitting in late 2015.
In my years as a maker, I’ve met tons of amazing people and learned a variety of things. Not just about knitting but on how to run a small business as well. In 2017, I made my first solo trip and it was then that I discovered my love for travel and I could not stop the need of wanting to see more of the world around me.
Being led to travel has led me to start living a more conscious and intentional lifestyle. From routines, to capsule wardrobes I’m trying it all and sharing all my resources here with you.
