I knitted socks while living out what grace looks like.

Thanks for checking out my Grace Socks pattern. I knitted these socks because I’m currently in a season where I am learning grace. Having grace towards myself and others.

For this pattern you will need:

Crafting Supplies, check

You will need to know how to:

  • Knit in the round
  • Purl
  • Slip stitches
  • Knit two stitches together
  • Purl two stitches together
  • Slip slip Knit

Knitting Abbreviations:
Co: Cast On
St(s): Stitch(es)
K: Knit
P: Purl
LI: Lifted Increase
SSK: Slip slip Knit
P2tog: Purl 2 stitches together
K2tog: Knit two stitches together
Sl: Slip
Rep: Repeat
Pm: Place Marker
Pu: Pick up
Rnd: Round
*: Repeat instructions that are within **
***: Refer to notes section

Size Exclusive Pattern

Toe
Co 22 sts; 11 sts on each needle
Rnd 1: Knit every st
Rnd 2: K1, RLI, k to last 2 sts, k1, LI, k1
Rep last two rows until you have 19 sts on each needle, 38 sts in total or a width of 2 ½ inches across

**I have been doing right leaning at the beginning and left leaning at the end

Foot
Knit every round until the length of your sock is 6 ½ inches from the co
***Use video tutorial as a guide for the next three sections this part will be knitted flat

One down now onto the foot

Heel Flaps
Slip the first st of each row

R1: Knit 19 sts
R2: Purl 19 sts 
For 19 rows
End on the rs

Heel Turn
Divide the number of sts by 2 and add 1 or round up to the next whole number.

R1: P11, p2tog, p1, turn (there should be 5 sts left on one needle)
R2: *Sl1, k1,* until you get to 8 sts before the end, k2tog, k1, turn
R3: Sl1, purl to 1 st before gap, p2tog, p1, turn
Rep the last two steps until you have no gaps remaining

End on a knit row

Gusset Decreases
Set up row: Pm, Pu the slip sts or the little v’s on the side of your heel flap plus 2 extra sts, pm, knit 19 sts, pm, pick up 2 sts and the slip sts or the little v’s on the side of your heel flap, pm.

Both sides of your gusset should have the same number of sts
Continue *K1, s1* for the heel and start decreasing every other round.

Rnd 1: *K1, sl,* until maker, slm, k to 3 sts before marker, k2tog, k1, slm, k19, slm, k1, ssk, k to next marker 
Rnd 2:  k every sts
Rep these rounds until there are 19 sts on each needle or 38 sts total.

Cuff
After you finish your gusset; you have 38 sts in total again
*K1, p1* every round for two inches
***Rib bind off

Knitted Socks

Pattern by Measurement

Toe
Co 1 inch of sts; you should have the same number of sts on each needle and that it’s an odd number of sts.

Rnd 1: Knit
Rnd 2: K1, inc, k to last 2 sts, k1, inc, k1
Rep last two rnds until you have a width of 2 ½  inches across

**I have been doing right leaning at the beginning and left leaning at the end

Foot
Knit every round until your length is 6 ½ inches from the co
***Use video tutorial as a guide for the next three sections

Heel Flaps
Knit 50% (divide your total number of sts by 2) for the number of sts you have.
Be sure to slip the first stitch of each row

Knit one row
Purl one row

Until you have as many row as you do the number of sts you are knitting 
I.E: You are working with 19 sts to make your heel flap so you should have a total of 19 rows.
End on a rs

Heel Turn
Purl the number you got, p2tog, p1, turn (take note of how many sts you have left after turning and make sure you have the same number of sts on the other side after you turn)

*Sl1, k1,* until you get to 3 sts before you have the same number of sts after the gap in the previous row, k2tog, k1, turn
Sl1, purl to 1 st before gap, p2tog, p1, turn
Rep the last two steps until you have no gaps remaining
End on a knit row

Gusset
You will start knitting in the round again
Set up row: Pm, Pick up the slip sts or the little v’s on the side of your heel flap plus 2 extra sts, pm, knit the sts from your other needle, pm, pick up 2 sts and the slip sts or the little v’s on the side of your heel flap, pm.

Both sides of your gusset should have the same number of sts
Continue *K1, s1* for the heel and start decreasing every other round.

Rnd 1: *K1,sl,* until maker, slm, k to 3 sts before marker, k2tog, k1, slm, k19, slm, k1, ssk, k to next marker 
Rnd 2: K every st
Rep these rounds until you are back to the same number of sts you had before starting your heel flap

Cuff
Knit one round
*K1, p1* every round for two inches
***Rib bind off
