Many times throughout our lives we get discouraged.
Because we are not where we want to be,
We’re not doing what we love,
Or we feel stuck in the life we are living.

When these times comes,
Because they will come,
Think Tree.

Trees start out as saplings
So close to the ground
And it seems like with the next wind
They’ll just blow it over
Or with the next rain storm
They’ll drown

But they don’t
Instead they persevere
They push their roots down
Deep into the ground
and even push up through concrete, if that’s what it takes

Day by day, week by week
They continue to stretch out their limbs
And reach for the sky
Rain or snow; they don’t stop growing.

Despite being stuck in one place
They do whatever it takes
They face all that nature throws at them
And they continue to grow.

So maybe we should do the same
Maybe we shouldn’t settle for where we are
Maybe we shouldn’t stop ourselves from trying something new,
Maybe we shouldn’t stop ourselves from stretching towards the life we want to live

Let’s take a lesson from the trees
Reaching out to all that’s around us
Day by day, week by week, regardless of the storms brings

And remember,
No matter where you are
Or what you are doing
You can still grow,
Right where you are.

‘Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.’

Psalms 1:1-3

‘Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.’

Jeremiah 17:7-8
