Wrote this during a live of the Soaking Collective.
Lord you always draw me back to you,
Into your presence I am always allowed to enter
It doesn’t matter what I was doing or thinking 3 seconds ago
You welcome me all the same
In your acceptance of who I am, there is no shame nor guilt
Just grace
Just love
Just you
Just me
Just us,
Enjoying, delighting in each other’s presences.
In those moments, I don’t have to do anything or be anyone other than who I am
No matter what view I have of myself or what others think of me
You still call me yours and tell me I’m worthy
You call me righteous
Your beloved
You call me your own and care for me
Expecting nothing yet giving me everything
You don’t count my mistakes and love me all the same
You dress me in your robes of peace
Not covering up my sin and shame but declaring me clean
You sit with me and allow me to be vulnerable
Allow me to be messy,
Your presences is gentleness
It does not rush, it comforts, it loves
It makes me feel valued, cared for, and heard
It wraps around me and reaches the dark depths of my heart
Is there anyone like you?
That can make me truly feel loved, feel whole,
Long for nothing other than to rest in your arms and dwell in your presences?
Who else would look upon me as you do?
Who would delight in carrying my burdens and rescue me from the traps of my enemies?
Is there anyone like you?
Scripture:
‘For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.’
Romans 8:38-39
