I wrote this on Good Friday with during worship night with my small group.

Lord, thank you for meeting us
For reaching down from the heavenly realms
despite my mess, my mistakes, my shame and my pride
and taking my hand in yours

You took my bitter heart and filled it with Joy
The love you have poured into me is immeasurable
It fills up all my empty spaces with ease

The grace that you have shown me has erase all my guilt
Our relationship is unhindered
Oh, how glad my heart is to spend time with you
My mind cannot comprehend this goodness that you have lavished on me
Your favor exceeds my every expectation

And yet when trouble comes, I run and hide
But even then Lord, you seek me

You call out to me with gentle words and wait for me to respond
You reach out to me with loving hands
Patiently, you wait for me to return to your side
And when I turn my face towards you
O, how you delight

O how the angels rejoice and heaven starts to dances
With just that one look I give you
I can feel your righteousness that you gave me, once again
The memory of my redemption returns to me
And I remember that you are my father and I am your child

Once again, I return to your embrace
Knowing, that I am fully accepted by you

Oh, how glad my heart is,
“I love, I love, I love your presences”
And I allow myself to feel your love overflow once more

Now I can rebuke the bitterness, the self hate, and self pity
I can break off shame and step into your arms once more

Knowing, you never stopped loving me
Knowing, that you will always welcome me
Knowing, that you will never withhold from me
Knowing, that I will always be safe with you
Knowing, that you are truly my home
