I am making this year’s theme, Overflow. I remember reading Jewell Washington’s post last year. She had mentioned the word “Overflow,” that word has stuck to me ever since.

Even though I just didn’t know why it did or how God would use it for my life I placed it in my heart and kept it safe. Can I just tell you that God is a “Wonderful Counselor” I’m serious! It feels as though all the pieces are falling into place. I can now tell you with great confidence where I can properly say that this year I will have Overflow.

I’ve been reading in the Old Testament lately, because God had someone bless me with the Story bible, and it stated that whoever had the Spirit of God with them, prospered. This is what is promised to those who have accepted God into their lives, prosperity. In order to have that I need to have God ever so close to me. I need to listen for His voice constantly so that I have direction in all matters,

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way that you should go, I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”

Psalm 32:8

Jesus is the Wonderful Counselor, as it says in Isaiah 9:6, I can trust Him because His ways and thoughts are higher than mine. He can see the big picture. He can make the impossible possible. He is a “dreamer giver and a dream full-filler.” I love the Lord, He’s so good!

This year I want to fall more deeply in love with the Lord; with my God. I want to do exactly what my devotion; Jesus Calling says today Jan 4, and say “I trust you, Jesus.” Because only then will I act according to His will and will be able to hear His voice and act with little to no hesitation. “I can trust God with my life.” I just want to go in this year leaving fear behind in 2017 and just to trust God with all things;

‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.’

Philippians 4:6-7

And lastly, I want to be constantly aware of who God is and who He said that I am. That way I don’t lose sight of Him or believe the lies of the enemy.

Scriptures:

Here are some of the verses that I’ll be resting in this year:

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

John 10:10

“The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. “

Genesis 39:2

“The warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph’s care, because the Lord was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did.”

Genesis 39:23

“In everything he did he had great success, because the Lord was with him.”

1 Samuel 18:14

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Deuteronomy‬ ‭31:6‬

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua‬ ‭1:9‬

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

Isaiah 9:6

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord . “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. “

Isaiah 55:8-9

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Isaiah ‭41:10‬ ‭

“I keep my eyes always on the Lord . With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”

Psalm 16:8

“My eyes are always on the Lord, for he rescues me from the traps of my enemies.”

Psalm 25:15

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding,”

Ephesians 1:3-14

“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,”

Ephesian 3:20
