Letter to an Unbeliever

Hi friends! One of our class assignments was to write a Letter to an Unbeliever. I felt as if I should just share it with you. Maybe there’s someone in your life or someone in passing that you’d like to share Christ with but don’t know how to. Maybe you are the one who need a little bit more information about what salvation really is. No matter what situation it is, I hope this helps you and those around you.

Not every part of this might pertain to your situation so feel free to edit it as to best fit your situation but I do ask that you do not take away any truth from it.

Hey there, I just wanted you to know that I have thought about you and prayed for you. I have put your name in my heart as the Lord God had told me to. Because I know what it is like to be forgotten and to feel as no one sees you, so when someone tells me their name I lock it up in my heart. But I will say this is the first time that I’ve earnestly prayed for someone I’ve only met once. That tells me that, not only I remember you but God does as well. He wants you to know that He hasn’t forgotten about you nor is He ignoring you. He loves you. So much so, that He wants you to live an abundant and joyous life,

“I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

John 10:10b

I think He chose me to tell you this because I know what it’s like to live a life feeling empty on the inside. As if, this wasn’t enough and knowing that it will never be. That was my life before I allowed Christ to take control and direct me in the way I should go.

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”

Psalms 32:8

God wants you to know He loves you so much that He wants to bless you with grace and peace so that you may find rest and start to truly love the life you live.

“Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Romans 1:7

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28

I thank God for putting you in my path so that I may tell you the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ that will bring you eternal life if that is what you chose,

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes…”

Romans 1:16

And before you ask, no you don’t need to adhere to a bunch of rules or laws to get this life eternal or as we Christian like to call it salvation or getting saved. All you need to do is invite God into your life. All is open up your heart and say the following,

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you will be saved.”

Romans 10:9

And if you’re thinking of all the things you’ve done and all the reasons you shouldn’t or can’t, stop! Stop believing those lies. God loves you! And nothing can stop Him from doing that no matter what you did or any excuses that you may think you have,

“’Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.’”

Romans 8:35, 37-39

Nothing will stop God from loving you and there is no reason you should feel that way,

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,”

Romans 8:1

And if you are thinking, “Can God really forgive me?!“ There’s no need to because He already has. That is why He sent His son Jesus Christ to die for our sins so we don’t have to face His judgement concerning our sins,

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

John 3:16-17

And now we live under the grace of God rather than His judgement. You may be curious to what God’s grace really is. It simply means no matter how badly we messed up or no matter what we’ve done or will do He has already forgiven us of it and we have a place in heaven with Him after this life.

“There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?”

John 14:2

Yes, I know that the grace of God sounds like it’s too good to be true but it’s not. It’s for you always so that you may live in a continuously relationship with your Heavenly Father. And so that you can live a life that you love.

“Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?”

Romans 2:4

And just to let you know, we can’t work our way into heaven. Because it is by grace we have been saved,

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–”

Ephesians 2:8

Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Psalms 37:4

If you do choose to accept Christ into your life by confessing it and believing in Him, you maybe wondering how should you start living within this wonderful gift of eternal life that you’ve just received. The answer is simple, live in God’s grace and righteousness. Living in grace means that you forgive yourself and those around you because that is what God has done for you. It is also repenting or turning from the things or people that you know are not what God wants for you or your life.

“’What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— because anyone who has died has been set free from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.’”

Romans 6:1-2,6-8

And as soon as you accepted Jesus into your heart you were already made righteous because now you have the spirit of God or the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of you. Your belief or faith has made you righteous before God,

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

Hebrews 11:1

Faith is believing and acting on what God has told you to do.

Lastly, thank you, for choosing Jesus Christ as your personal savior. Thank you, for choosing life over death. Thank you, for opening up your heart to Him who sees you. Know that He is rejoicing that you have chosen to join His family,

“..there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

Luke 15:10

Know that He loves you and so do we.

My prayer now is that you find yourself brothers and sisters in the faith that will support you in anyway you need it. And that you let God will lead you from now on,

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity.”

Jeremiah 29:11-14a

I am very grateful for you and I know God is as well.

“And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”

2 Corinthians 6:18

Welcome to the family!
